Budget Breakdown for a Week in Paris

How much does it cost to spend a week in Paris? I’ve published a budget from travel in France before, but it was a quick pass through in the midst of my round-the-world trip. As a broke backpacker, I leaned on couchsurfing, overnight buses, and hostel dorms. For the first international adventure of my 30s, I went full bougie and it was worth it… but I’ve got some sticker shock. Read on for the complete breakdown of my week in Paris budget:

Average Daily Cost Minus Flight: $184.08

My week in Paris is one of the most expensive trips I have ever taken. Even a round-trip flight on a budget airline wound up totaling over $500 and while I stayed somewhat budget conscious, I definitely prioritized specific meals and experiences regardless of the cost.

Looking at this tally, it’s no wonder people believe they could never afford to quit their jobs and travel!

But let me assure you: $2000 a week is not the norm for long-term travel. I went all out on this trip. You can read my full round-the-world trip cost on the blog or click here to book a call with me and learn more about how long-term travel can fit a smaller budget.
