Disclosure and Privacy Policy

Like most humans, I hate dishonesty and spam. The GDPR requires more specifics than that. If you want to know exactly what personal information this website collects and how it’s used, you’re in the right place.

Cookies

Sorry friends, not the chocolate chip kind. (Side note: how many times since GDPR went live have you heard that lame-ass joke?) Like most websites, WorldSmith uses browser cookies because that is how the internet works. Around these parts, their primary purpose is to communicate between my web host server, your browser and Google Analytics, which I use to track browsing data. I only refer to Google Analytics in overview to see things like what my most popular posts are. I wouldn’t know how to isolate your personal information from that even if I wanted to.

You can turn cookies off in your browser if you want to, but be aware that some website functions may not work as intended without the use of cookies.

While I do not currently publish things like banner ads on this website, I may do so in the future. If and when that becomes the case, cookie data will also be used to personalize your ad experience.

Your data will never be sold to a third party.

newsletter

If you sign up to receive emails from me, you will receive emails from me. Your email will not be sold or used for any other purpose. The data is stored on ConvertKit, which is (allegedly) GDPR compliant. You can unsubscribe from my email list at any time, by clicking unsubscribe in an email you have received from me. If you provide your name as part of your newsletter sign-up, it will only be used to personalize your emails.

I’ll say it again because it’s super important — your data will never be sold to a third party.

AffiliAte links

WorldSmith has financial relationships with some of the merchants mentioned on this blog. I will always disclose on the specific post if it contains affiliate links, but let me issue a blanket statement here that if you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, I may earn a small commission. You are never obligated to click a link or to make a purchase, and if you do, there is no extra cost to you.

WorldSmith is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

All affiliates are (allegedly) GDPR compliant.

I believe in having some skin in the game, so unless otherwise noted, know that I paid full price out of pocket for any products, services or travel mentioned on this blog.

Questions? Concerns?

You have the right to know how your data is being collected and used; to have access to your data; to ask me to change or delete your data; and to unsubscribe from my newsletter.

If you are an EU resident and wish to have your information (such as comments on blog posts) removed from this website, please let me know.
